Before you go any further: have you considered that you might not need to purchase your lighting panels? When what you really want is simply the light itself? EGG lighting has developed a Lighting as a Service (LaaS) model for those facilities managers who are looking towards a more 'circular' future.
EGG have developed a funding model which has been independently reviewed with the help of Zero Waste Scotland. It's for that reason that Zero Waste Scotland did a case study about us and about the project. Plus you can learn more about our circular economy luminaire design, which we submitted to and ultimately won the Herald Global Game Changers award with.

Resource Efficient Scotland
Since its launch in 2008, the SME Loan through Resource Efficient Scotland has provided Scottish businesses with over £24 million in loans for over 800 projects. That equates to an estimated financial saving to businesses of over £36 million.
By upgrading your lighting and heating systems can dramatically reduce your business’s energy bills. For that reason the SME Loan provides unsecured, interest free loans from £1,000 up to £100,000 for the installation of energy efficient measures.
Not only will you reduce your bills, you’ll receive funds of 15% cashback up to £10,000. Remember, your loan must be spent on energy saving technology. Therefore it can be used to pay for:
Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA)
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)
The Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme (ECA) is a major government scheme that boasts the benefit of helping your cash flow with tax relief, and is available to businesses of all sizes. Putting money back into the business this way is only available when the products you have purchased are qualified for the Energy Technology List (ETL).
ECA works by allowing businesses to write off the entire cost of any product included on the Energy Technology List against taxable profits. Many of our products can be found on that list and therefore qualify for 100% ECA tax relief.
The ETL is a government-managed list of nearly 17,000 energy saving products. As a result it's the industry standard for selecting eligible products. It's designed to encourage businesses to finance and invest in energy-saving technology that might otherwise be too expensive.
Utilising schemes like ECA is of particular benefit to companies that have been through the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) .
Businesses that meet the criteria are required to comply with the standards set by ESOS. Therefore companies that have taken the assessment in Phase 1 now need to reduce their carbon-emissions in order to meet minimum government requirements before the deadline.
If your company needs to complete an ESOS assessment, or if you want to know more, send us an enquiry and we'll get back to you with the information you need.
